Unity Not Uniformity

Brit Barron (she/her)

The body of Christ is made up of many parts—each unique, each essential. This keynote explores how biblical wisdom calls us to unity through love, not likeness, and how embracing difference leads to a stronger, richer, and more just community.

True unity isn’t about agreement on everything—
it’s about choosing love over division.

Keynote 2

Saturday 9.00am

A God Beyond All Binaries

Steff Fenton (they/them)

What if God is expansive enough to encompass and disrupt not just the gender binary, but all the categories we take for granted?

In this keynote, we will explore how the Bible’s language, imagery, and metaphors paint a picture of a boundary-breaking Divine presence that defies limitation and embraces fluidity. Whether in fire and cloud, mother and father, or the limitless “I Am,” this session invites us to see the Divine not as confined within human categories but as embodying expansive values of love, justice, and equity. Drawing on concepts from Steff’s upcoming book Gender Expansive Faith, this keynote will reimagine holiness beyond binaries, where followers are invited to embrace a faith that transcends human labels. Together, we will step into a sacred vision of Divine expansiveness.
